Nebraska State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall South, Conference Room Lower Level C, Lincoln, NE
Examples of Work:
Inspects premises and facilities including but not limited to liquor establishments, child care facilities, hospitals, nursing facilities, institutions, fire works stands, and mobile home parks to prevent fires and comply with relevant rules and regulations. Writes and submits reports regarding all inspections and investigations to ensure proper records are maintained in compliance with established rules, regulations, and procedures and to document investigations. Interprets State and federal regulations to provide local fire departments, institutions, and the public with technical assistance in all areas of fire prevention.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Experience in fire-fighting.
PREFERRED: Post high school course in investigations or fire science. Computer skills in Windows 7 and Office 2010. Must test in order to receive an interview.
OTHER: Valid drivers' license or able to provide independent authorized transportation. Test date: October 30, 2013 Test time in all three locations: 1:30 p.m.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: investigation and inspection procedures; the English language; structural safeguards; relevant codes, rules and regulations. Ability to: communicate effectively with individuals and groups; understand and apply instructions; establish and maintain good working relationships; apply the required knowledge to complete fire and arson investigations and fire prevention inspections; write complete, accurate, and concise reports.
