The course instructor will teach Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)courses in adherence to the AHA ECC Course Cr! iteria for maintaining and renewal. Instructors provide the framework for the ACLS/PALS for Health Care Providers and the ACLS/PALS Courses. The instructor facilitates the course and helps coach the students.
Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Instructor Certification required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider certifications preferred. Current licensure in the appropriate field of practice (paramedic, registered nurse, advanced practical nurse, advanced medicine) required. Minimum two years working experience in a health care occupation or field requiring utilization of ACLS and PALS required. High School education or equivalent required. Excellent communication and instructional skills required. Ability to work with a varied population of individuals required. Proficient use of classroom equipment (computer, projector, electronic bulletin board, TV, DVD recorded) required. Proficient use of office equipment (files, dupl! icating machine, fax machine, telephone) required. Proficient ! use of course specific training materials and equipment (medical manikins, barrier devices, external automoated defribilattor, all advanced cardiac life support equipment) required.
