WHO WE ARE
Truth Initiative® is America’s largest non-profit public health organization dedicated to making tobacco use a thing of the past. We speak, seek and spread the truth about tobacco through education, tobacco-control research and policy studies, community activism and engagement, and innovation in tobacco dependence treatment. We are a diverse and inclusive organization.
The Innovations Center at Truth Initiative designs, builds, evaluates, and markets leading digital solutions to help people of all ages live tobacco free. EX is one Truth Initiative’s quit tobacco programs designed to help adults aged 18+ quit smoking, vaping, dipping or chewing tobacco. Developed in collaboration with Mayo Clinic, EX Program supports users through multiple, integrated modalities. One of these modes is the EX Community (http://excommunity.becomeanex.org).

The EX Community is the world’s largest, longest-running online community centered on quitting tobacco. 5000+ active members each month participate in the EX Community to give and get support on their quitting journey, build relationships with others going through the quitting process, and learn from Mayo Clinic team members who blog about different aspects of quitting or host real-time virtual events for members.

We know that tobacco use disproportionately affects people of color, people from working class backgrounds, and LGBTQ people. We believe these communities must be centered in the work we do, and want all tobacco users to feel safe, included, and represented in our quitting programs. Hence, we strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other marginalized communities.
