Job Summary/ Essential Duties:
Provides leadership and supervision in the dev! elopment, implementation, and evaluation of oncology services ! on a system-wide basis.
Responsible for performance management of staff within the areas of breast centers, lung center, genetics, cancer support services, Image Recovery Centers and the infusion center at CUMC. on a system-wide basis (i.e., competency, staff orientation, ongoing education and development, annual performance appraisals, hiring of new employees etc.).
Responsible for program development and quality improvement initiatives centered in human experience design and patient satisfaction.
Oversight of the breast and lung centers. Providing direction in development and making them systematic.
Coordinate quality improvement initiatives in areas of responsibility utilizing current databases and data management tools
Provides direction in developing the Genetics program into a clinic
Leads quality area for oncology with oncology inpatient units and outpatient through out the system
Coordinates cancer rehabilitation services for Alegent Heat! lh.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience Preferred : Minimum of 5 years oncology experience. Previous management or leadership experience. Education/Licensure Required: Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing is required. A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in nursing or related field is required. The incumbent must hold a Registered Nurse license in Nebraska or Iowa (Nebraska and Iowa are compact states so license must be held in state of residence). OCN certification is required. Preferred: Masters of Science in nursing or related health administration field. BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say "Professional Level-with AED", and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
