Job Summary/Essential Duties:
Use independent judgment and critical thinking to meet the needs of patients through collaboration with internal and external resources and providers ensuring consistency with organizational standards and/or federal regulations.

Work as a back up to the clinical team as scheduled.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
Preferred:
Two or more years of clinical nursing and triage experience in an ambulatory health care setting
Primary Care experience
One year of computer/keyboarding experience.
One year of nurse triage experience in a call center environment
Office/clerical, experience in scheduling and electronic medical records (EMR) systems and insurance protocols knowledge.
Ability to speak Spanish a plus
Education and/or Licensure-Certification:
Required:
Active licensure as a Practical Nurse in Nebraska or Iowa, Nebraska and Iowa are compact states, so licensure is required in the state of residence.
BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the follow! ing: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say âProfessional Level-with AEDâ, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Knowledge/Skill/Abilities:
Knowledge of:
o Professional nursing theory and practice, as well as standard practices reules and regulations related to nursing.
o Organizational policies, regulations and procedures
o Medical equipment and instruments
o Risk management, quality improvement and infection control
o Insurance protocols
o Organizational skills
Skills as demonstrated through:
o Applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing
o Continuous accurate verbal and written communication, to include appropriate grammar, telephone etiquette, correct spelling, legible handwriting, reading comprehension and fo! llow-through on instructions
o Establishing and maintaining co! operative and collaborative working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
o Continuous time, resource and task management
o Must be able to set priorities and anticipate pediatric and primary care provider needs
o Excellent interpersonal skills
o Correctly assesses stat triage patientâs vital signs and charts them accurately
o Typing/keyboarding/computer skills
Ability to:
o Type approximately 35 -50 words per minute.
o Provide compassionate, empathetic patient care
o React calmly, professionally in emergency situations, and in times of conflict resolution
o Work closely with the providers responding appropriately and timely to provider(s) requests
o Apply all knowledge and skill requirements
o Multi-task on a consistent basis
o Keep accurate records
o Handle stressful situations
o To meet deadlines
o Assist ! the clinic as a backup as requested
