Team Lead RN Triage
Hours: 6a-630p
TEAM LEAD ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Has the authority to interview, hire, terminate, promote, train and conduct performance evaluations.
2. Assigns day-to-day work activities; directs the functional an! d technical job performance of team members.
3. Alloc! ate and direct staffing needs to meet patient, unit, and department needs, and collaborate with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met.
4. Manage performance including: setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognize, developing skills and addressing performance issues related to work and our Commitments using corrective action.
FUNCTIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Assists Chief Nurse Executive in screening, training, coaching, and counseling and the development of hourly personnel. Performs such tasks as required to interpret, enforce, and support facility/regulatory agency policies, procedures, and programs. Participates in nursing competency education programs. Supports LPN Neighborhood Team Lead.
2. Serves as a leader of Night, Eves, and/or Week Ends teams. Role models resident center care, Eden Principles and ¿Every Resident is My Resident.¿ Monitors resident c! are techniques to identify risk of incidents/accidents and take action to minimize potential of injury to patients and employees. Knows residents and families and ensures families¿ involvement in resident care plans and in unit governance.
3. Assures complete, timely and accurate MDS, other assessments, SARAs, tools, care plans/updates, and QI data collection. Performs level of care, infection prevention and resident surveillance to assure appropriate placement/ reimbursement and assures adequate staffing to safely meet residents level of care needs.
4. Performs/directs/appropriately delegates clinical procedures requiring the skill/knowledge or judgment of licensed professional and those which do not require a licensed professional and which may be safely delegated in accordance with facility policies, procedures and state professional requirements. Supervises the provision of care by non-licensed personnel as necessary. Assists the LPN Coordinators as n! eeded with RN required duties.
5. Collaborates with nursing le! adership team, leadership team and administration to assure continuity of care and continued development of staff on weekend, evening and night shifts to build unit cohesiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience as a Registered Nurse in a Skilled Nursing Facility and/or medical/surgical setting preferred. Basic Life Support certification, basic computer experience preferred.
Education/Licensure
Required:
Completion of a Registered Nurse program in an accredited institution required.
Current RN licensure in the State of Nebraska or the State of Iowa. Nebraska and Iowa are compact states so you must be licensed in the state of residence.
BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO! , must say ¿Professional Level-with AED¿, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Preferred:
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Gerontological Nurse Certification is preferred.
