JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to residents assigned to him/her under the direction of the physician supporting th! e medical plan of care and meeting the written comprehensive care plan objectives, while functioning within the appropriate scope of practice. This position is responsible for working to fulfill the goals and objectives of the Nursing Department and Tabitha Home, Inc. This position is responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations and for upholding the mission and standards of the organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of current nursing theory and practices required. Must be able to follow orders and work as a part of a health care team. Must have a sense of responsibility, compassion, emotional stability, and a cheerful disposition. Be tactful and able to get along with all kinds of people. Must be able to interact with co-workers, residents, and families in a friendly, appropriate manner. Ability required to give and receive feedback in a positive manner. - Must possess a genuine interest in geriatric care and compassion! for elderly. - Must possess a flexible attitude toward differ! ing cultures and life styles. - Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language - Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. - Must possess the ability to plan and organize. - Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. - Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices. - Must be able to relate information concerning a resident=s condition. - Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Nebraska license or temporary permit from the Nebraska Department of Health, either Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
EDUCATION/TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing approved by the State! of Nebraska, either Registered Nurse or licensed Practical Nurse.
