Global Health Care Group is looking for a Registered Nurse to provide services at the VA Norfolk Community Based Outpatient Clinic, located in Borfolk, NE.

Available ! Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Ambulatory Care.

Place of Performance:
VA Norfolk Community Based Outpatient

Work Schedule: Tour of duty is Monday-Friday working 8 hour shifts/40 hrs per week.

Period of Performance: The base period is from November 15, 2012 to April 14, 2013 and it may be extended until November 14, 2013, upon acceptable performance and all necessary state reviews and approvals.

Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to):
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
Collects and reports physiological data (i.e. vital signs, weights, collection and measurement of intake and output, lung sounds, preventive health screening, collects and labels lab specimens).

Demonstrates skill in recognizing subtle signs of impending change in the patient's condition and reports to the PCP appropr! iately.

Observes and monitors patients for changes in! physical, mental status, and behavior.

Assesses and triages patient needs over the telephone and in face-to-face venues insuring patient is referred to appropriate level of care.

Modifies care, activities, and interactions in response to observed changes and reports using established Nursing Protocols and reports significant change in condition to the PCP. Care may be provided using a variety of modalities including face-to-face care, telephone care, and technology such as Secure Messaging and Home telehealth.

Identifies need for and provides patient education as indicated by healthcare condition

Coordinates patient care across the continuum as warranted by condition

Performs packing of wounds, sterile dressing changes, and performance of identified unit specific activities as identified in unit competency documentation.

Administers prescribed medications (oral, rectal, topical, subcutaneous, intra-dermal, intra-muscula! r, and nebulizer treatments) in accordance with VA NWIHCS policy and procedure. Has knowledge of untoward and desired effects of drugs administered and monitors patients accordingly.

Recognizes and initiates appropriate action in emergency situations; assists the resuscitation team upon arrival.

Sets up and assists in the operation of equipment. Shared responsibility for ensuring medical equipment is functional and safe; reports any evidence of malfunctioning equipment.

Utilizes safe patient handling equipment and techniques in lifting, moving and transferring patients.

License: Must have an unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in one of the States, Territories, or Commonwealths of the United States or the District of Columbia.

Education: Must have graduated from an accredited Nursing School.

Certifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) ce! rtification.

Experience: Must have experience of at lea! st 1 year in the OR department.

Language Skills: Must speak English proficiently.

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen.

3) FD - 258 (Fingerprint checks)

4) Law Enforcement Agency checks

Professional References: Minimum of two to three references regarding related work with contact information. Must provide names and phone numbers to be used by the government to verify actual experience.
