Clinical LiaisonAs a member of the sales team, generate patient admissions, from hospital based referral sources, promote growth of admissions over time and take personal responsibility for meeting specific admission goals on a weekly basis. Establish and maintain significant professional relationships with key physicians and hospital personnel. Work closely with Community Education Representatives to meet growth and development targets and actively establish and maintain market acceptance and allegiance. Explain Odyssey's services to patients and families in a manner that results in the admission of appropriate patients. Interact with patients, families, and referral sources. Oversee pending patients (referrals) and routinely follow the progress of prospective patients. Oversight of GIP patients with emphasis on following Plan of Care related to Palliative treatment. Work closely with patient care teams in transitioning patients as they are admitted to Odyssey services. Represent Odyssey and its services in a competent professional manner consistent with the organizations' service and teamwork culture. Manage related expenditures in a fiscally responsible manner in accordance with the Company's budget. Travel as necessary.
Company's Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:* Minimum age requirement of 18* Registered Nurse licensed in the state.* Bachelor's degree and C.H.P.N. certification preferred.* Minimum of three years general nursing required with current hospice, home health, medical, surgical or critical care experience preferred.* Three or more years of sales experience in the health care industry with a demonstrated history of positive sales results preferred.* Knowledge of clinical manifestations of diseases and ability to develop hospice-specific clinical knowledge.* Understanding of hospice philosophy and the principles of death and dying.* Ability to market to and deal tactfully with customers, referral sources and the community.* Excellent communication, negotiation and public relations skills.* Excellent presentation and public speaking skills. * Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices.* Valid driver's license with maintenance of safe driving record and an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and / or Odyssey requirements and is in good working order. * Physical exam in accordance with state law requirements.* Ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting.* Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.* Satisfactory criminal background check.* Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.* Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations.
