Master Project Scheduler [United States]


 

OVERVIEW:
Construction Innovations is seeking an analytical and organized candidate to serve as Master Scheduler. The Master Scheduler will support schedule risk management and mitigation planning by analyzing production capacity, level loading and project schedules for issues, and working closely with team members across departments to ensure schedule alignment. The ideal candidate will have long-range planning and analysis skills and the ability to effectively balance the needs of multiple stakeholders to unify scheduling across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the company scheduling standards for use in forecasting, planning, production, and project specific levels across and within all departments.

    Develop and oversee the company master schedule connecting departmental scheduling process inputs and outputs to support on time and complete deliveries.
  • Proactively identify and communicate observed schedule risk to the Project Team and Product Managers and recommend recovery plans.
  • Participate in forecasting meetings with Business Development, Sales & Marketing, and other related departments.
  • Develop KPI’s or metrics related to project scheduling, resource planning and capacity planning.
  • Provide master scheduling information to departments in support of resource allocation.
  • Facilitate preliminary schedule creation of all projects.
  • Ensure long lead deliveries are aligned with project and production needs.
  • In collaborate with the Engineering Department, develop process to ensure all design deliverables are received from the customer on time in support of the Design schedule.
  • Train team members on Master Scheduling related processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Master Scheduler spends most of their time in an office environment but may occasionally spend time at the company’s manufacturing plant, or at the project site. The office is an open and collaborative space where work is performed both independently and with the team.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information.
  • Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information.
  • Required to sit at a desk work station for long periods of time.
  • Push, pull, lift, and carry at least 10 pounds.
  • Frequently required to walk and stand. This position may involve infrequent site visits which will require the ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order to read contract documents, analyze data, view a computer monitor, and proof read documents to identify errors.
  • Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach.
  • May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:
This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

LOCATION:
Construction Innovations facilities and offices are located in Sacramento, CA and Mather, CA.


COMPENSATION:
Construction Innovations pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in Production Planning or Master Scheduling using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Advanced knowledge of scheduling software(s), ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred), and MS Excel
  • Solid understanding of technical Master Scheduling logic, including the use of Master Schedule tools and software
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in developing and delivering training
  • Excels at working in a team environment
