The Search & merchandising expert plays a critical role in driving software expertise across the Operating Companies for the adoption of the new eCommerce platform.
The Search & Merchandising expert will work in the Search Products team. You will help the team to deliver the solution evolutions and attend to the community of practices to share knowledge on using the maximum possibilities. The Search & Merchandising expert will drive the best practices across the organization. The role will work closely with other experts to drive improvements across the Product.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining a subject matter expertise on key 3rd party products (Bloomreach – our search engine, first) used by the Platform from a software perspective.
- Help Opcos to use the 3rd party software (Bloomreach).
- Maintaining an ongoing relationship with the vendor (Bloomreach) on behalf of Spark / Sonepar and funnel requests from Spark / Sonepar to those vendors.
- Working with the Product Managers (PMs) and the Product Owners (POs) to influence the product strategy/roadmap to better leverage the products.
- Providing insights into future capabilities of the 3rd party product thanks to an intimate knowledge of the product strategy of vendors.
- Preparing training materials and Knowledge Base content for OpCos to ensure functional guidelines are being applied.
- Work with the other experts to train OpCos and help them maximize use of tools that we provide (leveraging content and knowledge base).
- Following up the implementation as Customer Success Specialist for Search (in liaison with the Customer Success team) and Content Management.
- This role could extend to being an expert in CoreMedia CMS.
Ideal candidate will be located in the DFW or Denver, CO areas.
Compensation: $80K to $100K plus 10% bonus potential
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience with a strong background in eCommerce roles
- You have worked in some form of customer facing role and you can influence both business and IT stakeholders, as well as work with a partner in a one team spirit
- You are keen to push your e-commerce search & merchandising competences to be someone that people trust
- You have strong skills in e-commerce, ideally with a focus on merchandising / searchandising and beyond
- Experience with Bloomreach is highly desired
- You have proven and practical experience with Search engines ideally using it at scale (significant online revenue), or any other big search package of the market (Algolia, Elastic Search …)
- You have functional knowledge related to content management and have used different Content Management Systems
- You have previously worked on e-commerce implementations and/or runs and have practical experience of search engines in that context
- You have proven experience of ‘tuning’ Search engine so that business performance is optimal (Algolia / Elastic Search / others…)
- You understand the issues of business architecture, business processes
- You are capable of finding solutions once blockers have been identified
- You have worked in agile / SAFE organizations and on projects using the principles of product engineering
