Responsible for comprehensive management and administration of clinical studies. Administrative responsibilities include coordinating research activities of support personnel and directing staff and non-medical staff in study execution. Clinical responsibilities include patient recruitment and follow-up, direct patient care for adult cardiology patients, clinical assessment and evaluati! on, preparation of abstracts and data collection and analysis ! for publication, presentation and professional meetings. Occasional travel to out-state clinics.
Essential Job Functions
:
Recruits patients for outpatient and inpatient clinical studies. Monitors and verifies eligibility for protocol. Monitors patients in treatments, including long range follow-up.
Provides education, information and support to study patients and their families.
Assists, guides and advises non-medical staff, physicians and staff in study design and management of all aspects of the international and multicenter research efforts at NHI and TPN.
Coordinates design of studies in working with outside reviewers and interdepartmental personnel.
Promotes research within organization including education of staff and physicians regarding current and upcoming studies.
Assists staff and physicians in data collection and analysis for professional presentations, ensuring that deadlines are met.

Prepares submission of protocols and grant applications to research project committees.
Provides information on studies to referring physicians and assures patient compliance to protocols.
Maintains proper documentation including all current and historical files on all research projects and clinical studies.
Assists in the completion of regulatory documents under the direction of a Lead Research Coordinator or Research Manager.
Participates as a team member and provides leadership to colleagues, students and other team members to ensure that workloads are distributed fair and equal and that our number one goal of providing excellence of service and care to our patients and their families is accomplished every day.

Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited medical program, such as Registered Nurse, Licensed Practice Nurse or Exercise Physiology required.
Alternatively, would consider Associateâs or Bachelorâs Degree in a healthcare related field.
IATA certification, Human Subjects Protection Training and Good Clinical Practice Training required or will occur immediately upon hire.
Licensure/Certification:
ACRP/SoCRA certification preferred.
Experience/Pre-Requisites
:
Two years of clinical research, study coordination, data management and study development is preferred.
Phlebotomy experience preferred.
Knowledge of general clinic practices and procedures.
Knowledge of patient and staff education as it relates to clinical research.
Knowledge of medical skills and terminology as learned in paramedical training.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation of the English language.
Knowledge of basic mathematical concepts.
Skill in operating personal computer and various software packages.
Skill in operating office equipment such as copier, fax, telephone, calculator, etc.
Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
Skill in using various types of examining equipment for administering a variety of treatments.
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Ability to identify problems, coll! ect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability ! to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, effectively and positively with staff members, patients and the public.
Ability to work independently or be an influential member of a team.
Ability to maintain the strictest of confidentiality.
Ability to relate to staff and various outside contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and/or written instruction.
