Description ^Senior Electrical Project Specialist with production experience in preparation and layout of electrical engineering contract documents relating to a wide variety of facility types and sizes located throughout the United States. Senior Electrical Project Specialist will work with supervision receiving advice and direction from electrical engineers. Independently participates in coordinating with the work of a local staff of electrical, mechanical, structural, civil engineers, EITâs and specialists in an interdisciplinary team setting ! with architects, interior designers and planners throughout th! e design development and contract document phases of a project. Duties will include managing Revit electrical models and working to help maintain and develop Revit standards. Duties will include: production of construction documents, inputting equipment, electrical building power and lighting systems, communications systems and devices through the schematic, design development and contract document phases to complete documents on schedule. Experience including knowledge of fire alarm and mass notification systems and being knowledgeable in the following low voltage systems: telecommunication cabling, nurse call, CATV, access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection, is a plus. Assists, with affected disciplines, with any addendum, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and is responsible to incorporate agreed upon changes into the project documents. Provides, on an as needed basis, participation in construction administration by assisting in processing of shop drawings, responding to ! RFIâs, and possibly performing site visits during the construction phase. Applies all appropriate techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out assignments, maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality, particularly in electrical documentation for areas of conflict with all other disciplines. Completes work assignments with team-oriented regard to time and budget constraints. Cooperates as an active member of the project team and develops greater understanding of the other disciplines within the office. Performs other duties as assigned or instructed.
Qualifications · Associates Degree from Technical College required (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical design field with a focus on buildings.
- Minimum 2 years of experience using REVIT MEP (electrical focus) required.
- Ability to layout light fixtures, both interior and exterior, for multiple building types.
- Ability to layout electr! ical receptacles and assist in coordination of power requirements for m! echanical equipment, kitchen equipment, medical or owner-furnished equipment, etc.
- Knowledge of processes involved in performing power load and lighting level calculations under the supervision of a registered engineer is a plus.
- Strong knowledge and proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- General understanding of construction methods.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally, visually and in writing.
- Effective and tactful communication skills and works well in a collaborative and collegial work environment.
- Excellent time management and organization skills; ability to multi-task.
- Ability to formulate sound decisions based upon available information.
- Strong self-confidence, self-motivation skills and abilities.
- Works well independently or as part of a multi-disciplined team.
- Experience in the design documentation of a variety of facilities in a large variety of sectors for private, government and corporate clients.
- Experience with other A/E/C firms is a plus.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- The Omaha office of LEO A DALY regularly works with other offices of the Company. Candidate must collaboratively partner and work share with these âremoteâ offices.
