Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Description

This position is responsible for providing prescribed medical treatment and personal care servic! es to residents assigned to him/her under the direction of the physician supporting the medical plan of care and meeting the written comprehensive care plan objectives, while functioning within the appropriate scope of practice.

This position is responsible for working to fulfill the goals and objectives of the Nursing Department and Tabitha Home Health Care.

This position is responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations, and for upholding the mission and standards of Tabitha.

Tabitha Nursing and Rehabilitation Center offers skilled nursing, rehabilitation and long-term care communities that offer compassionate care for our temporary and long-term residents.

Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Responsibilities

As a

Licensed Practical Nurse

you will be responsible for:
·

Assessing residents assigned to you in regard to physical, mental, and psychosocial status! reporting condition changes in your assigned residents in a t! imely manner to immediate supervisor and provide follow-up with family and physician as directed

·

Completing and documenting procedures and appropriate information on the resident’s medical record in a timely manner according to Tabitha’s policies and procedures

·

Prioritizing assignment to complete care for assigned residents in a timely manner, making adjustments throughout the shift to meet immediate needs of residents when necessary

·

Providing leadership to non-licensed nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift

·

Preparing, administering, and/or supervising administration of medications treatments and other nursing services as ordered by the physician and according to Tabitha’s policies and procedures

·

Providing directions and monitoring of medications for residents who are receiving medications by Medication Aides

·

Assisting with admissions, t! ransfers, and dismissals

Ability to life up to 75 pounds

·

Nebraska license or temporary permit from the Nebraska Department of Health, either Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse

·

Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing approved by the State of Nebraska, either Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse

Licensed Practical Nurse

Must have:

Knowledge of current nursing theory and practices

·

A sense of responsibility, compassion, emotional stability, and a cheerful disposition

Must possess:

A flexible attitude toward differing cultures and life styles

·

Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willing! ness to handle difficult residents

Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
