Conifer Health Solutions is currently hiring for a Patient Access Representative on a part time basis.

Hours: Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 10:30am - 6:00pm, 24 hours per week......this position is benefits eligible.

General Summary

Reports ! directly to the Telephone Line to Care/CARE Office Coordinator! under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications. Responsible for supporting inpatient and outpatient scheduling and patient screening functions performed by the nurses in CARE centralized scheduling department.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Documentation, Tracking and Fulfillment: Receives, manually records and data enters into computer all patient information received from physician offices and/or Medical Center personnel such as lab tests, chest x-rays, history and physicals, etc. Routes outpatient order forms (OPFs) and all patient information received to appropriate staff or area as received. Creates patient teaching sheets, manages and distributes patient charts. Prepares reports and pulls patient charts for daily outbound calls by screening functions. Runs surgery schedules to support bed placement, scheduling and screening functions. Manages and distributes departmental communications such as faxes and mail. Prepa! res, tracks and files travel slips. Works with CARE schedulers to problem-solve patient records in "Not on Log" file. Mails letters to Joint Center and Spine Center participants on the day the class appointment is scheduled. Verifies History and Physical Log (H&P) daily with Health Information Management staff. Checks outgoing History and Physical Reminder system daily and correct failed deliveries. Transports patient charts to nursing units as requested. Orders supplies for office and keeps all workstations filled per requirements. Keeps screening and education desks supplied with teaching sheets and related forms. Notifies IT Help Desk and CARE/TLC Applications Analyst when equipment repairs are needed for copier, fax or computer. Reads MOX and e-mail communications daily when working. Maintains a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Education High school diploma required, some college p! referred. Successful completion of Medical Terminology or equivalent co! urse work preferred for Circulator role within six months of hire.

Licensure None.

Experience/Pre-Requisites Basic word processing skills required with the ability to type 35 words per minute. Experience working in a computer "windows" environment preferred. Effectively handles multiple tasks simultaneously. Flexible and able to adapt to frequent program and work process changes. Is socially sensitive and nonjudgmental in all communications. Demonstrates organization, accuracy and ability to complete work on time. Works effectively with minimum supervision utilizing time management principles and techniques to maximize productivity.

Professionalism/Growth and Development Completes mandatory education as assigned by quarterly deadline. Attends and participates in 80% of Department meetings for Circulator role. Reads CARE Department meetings for scheduling and scheduler roles. Trains new associates to role as directed by Coordinator. Participates in! department projects. Maintains skills/competencies required for the position.

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions Working in an office setting with sitting and walking for up to 8 hours in CARE Office Circulator role. Constant and repetitive work processing incoming faxes and distributing to correct location. Extensive work at computer and department copier/fax to track all incoming faxes. Demonstrates organization, accuracy and ability to complete work on time. May be required to work additional shifts or change shifts. Operates and performs basic problem solving of computer printers, fax and copy machine.
