Develops, conducts, and administers staff education, orientation! and training programs including hospital-wide employee education offerings.

Designs and conducts orientation for personnel, including nursing staff.

Assists with life support courses.

Serves as nurse planner for a provider unit of continuing education in nursing.

Serves as a LEARN (Learning Effectiveness & Resource Network) administrator.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Designs and conducts orientation of personnel, including nursing staff.

Provides written and/or oral reports to managers as necessary.

Teaches Basic Life Support according to American Heart Association guidelines, proper decontamination for manikins, and completion of required paper work.

Coordinates and/or assists with ACLS offerings through instruction and/or more general assistance (e.g., on-site registration, equipment setup) and provides Trauma Nursing Core Course instruction and/or more general assistance.

! Develops training content and objectives, and determines the b! est teaching methods in coordination with Educational Services Staff.

Conducts and/or ensures the offering of learning activities for employees on a variety of topics.

Assists employees and outside speakers in preparation for, and delivery of, the training they provide.

Researches topics for educational activities.

Confers with others in and out of hospital in planning for activities, developing content and objectives, determining best teaching method(s), deciding if handouts or audiovisuals are needed, determining appropriate audiences, and reviewing requirements from regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with required programs.

Serves as a Nurse Planner of a Provider Unit of Continuing Education in Nursing.

Provides continuing education (C.E.) activities to area health care professionals (e.g., workshops).

Serves as an Administrator of on-line learning management system. Produces student group; produces, coor! dinates, and publishes courses.

Assigns courses to individuals or groups.

Runs reports as needed.

Provides or assists with new product in-services on clinical equipment. Assists employees in locating pertinent literature, workshops, and other educational resources.

Delivers, sets up and retrieves audiovisual equipment for meetings, training sessions, and related.

Instructs users on how to operate equipment.

Attends and participates in committees as assigned.

Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature, and attending related conferences, seminars, and the like.

Participates in the planning of the budget for the Employee Education area and monitors expenditures and revenue.

Assists with health screenings and education at Department sponsored events.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of a! n accredited school of nursing. BSN degree preferred.

Experien! ce

Three to five years nursing experience.

Licensure

Current Nebraska license as a Registered Nurse.
