Quality Improvement Coordinator, Coventry Health Care, Inc. is currently seeking a Quality Improvement Coordinator to work with our corporate medical administration tea! m located in one of our offices in Downers Grove; Illinois; Urbandale; Iowa; St. Louis; MO; Kansas City; MO;Sunrise: FL or Omaha; NE.
The Quality Improvement Coordinator will be accountable for research and identification of quality of care issues to ensure compliance with Coventry ?s quality improvement programs as well as accreditation and regulatory standards. In the role of the Quality Improvement Coordinator;
- you will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of all quality improvement activities; i.e.; studies; surveys; audits; peer reviews; etc.
- performing analysis and providing oversight for delegated functions; preparing weekly and monthly reports as required; performing quality improvement studies as they relate to trends identified via utilization review activities; utilization patterns; audits; HEDIS results; appeals; etc;
- identifying possible quality of care issues through research and data analysis; prep! aring and distributing accurate and timely reports according t! o department; documentation standards; and regulatory requirements; under the direction of assigned Medical Directors and quality improvement management; conducting audits to research quality of care issues;
- assisting in conducting peer review chart audits; compiling statistics; and reporting results to the peer review and quality improvement committees; monitoring and assuring that follow-up re-evaluation activities take place when deficiencies are identified and recommendations for corrective action have been made;
- providing education to members and employer groups regarding preventive health and wellness; may complete an annual review of department policies and procedures and make recommendations for updates based on changing needs or trends; assisting in preparing the annual program evaluation and work plan.
The ideal Quality Improvement Coordinator candidate will be:
- a Licensed Practical Nurse ! (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with active state license required; comply with all state certification requirements in the state where job duties are performed;
- previous (2-4 years) clinical experience required; bachelorâs degree preferred;
- previous quality improvement and/or managed health care experience preferred; fundamental knowledge of relevant legal; medical; and regulatory terms; issues; and practices.
