High School/GED BLS Required CNA required Certification as a nurse assistant required.One to three months related experience and / or training preferred. CPR certification (Minimum of Heartsaver certified, required within the first year of employment.) Works under close supervision while providing patient care and clerical activities including: assisting with patient activities of daily living and monitoring of condition, documentation of care activities, specimen procurement and handling, and other support services that assist the patient and family in the achievement of physical and emotional comfort. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 1. All activities are performed under the direction of a Registered Nurse following MLMH patient care standards.
2.Assists patient with activities of daily living as patient needs require. 3.Provides basic care in a timely manner respectful of the age and cultural needs of the patient. 4.Performs assigned procedures appropriately and with respect for human dignity. 5.
Demonstrates appropriate use of universal precautions and other infection control procedures. 6. Provides explanation of all care procedures to the patient/family prior to performing the care. 7.
Immediately communicates patient care needs, change in condition, observations and responses to the appropriate RN. 8. Demonstrates an overall attitude of caring and concern for the patient / family with a commitment to ensure patient/family satisfaction with care received. 9.
Accurately documents information regarding patient care activities and / or patient response on the appropriate tool. 10. Demonstrates the core values of Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in all interactions. 11.
Demonstrates fiscally responsible behavior in the use of equipment, supplies, time and other hospital resources. 12. Maintains required skills and competencies. 13.
Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy. 14. Attends/participates in departmental meetings, inservices, MLMH Quality Improvement programs, etc. 15.
Performs other duties as assigned
